If my student must be absent, what is the absence procedure?

Posted by:

Successful completion of course work is two fold: the student must meet academic standards and exhibit consistent attendance. Consistent attendance is defined as fewer than five absences in any class during a semester. However, if a student is absent, parents are encouraged to call in, but should realize that a phone call does not absolve the student of the responsibility to make up the absence once the absences exceed five. We encourage parents to reinforce with their student the importance of attending all of their classes. There is no substitution for actual classroom attendance. Lectures, exercises, academic activities, tests, student discussions, media presentations, lab work, and teacher assistance are each vital to academic success and learning.
