Gila Ridge student selected for 2019 Binational Clean Air Calendar

Gila Ridge High School student Kaylyn Charles was recently selected by the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. as the winner of the “2019 Binational Clear Air Calendar” contest.

The objective of the contest is to show the importance of recycling and clean air in the region as the students see it in their natural environment. Students were to draw a picture with an emphasis on the ‘3R’s’ (reduce, reuse, and recycle) or wild life. All of these topics were shown by Charles’ work and it will be featured in this year’s calendar.

The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. awarded all those who submitted drawings a certificate of participation, as well as recognizing Charles during the Binational Health and Environment Council meeting on Jan. 30, 2019.

A student from Kofa High School was featured in the 2018 calendar.
