Gila Ridge choir to host color run

The Gila Ridge High School choir will be hosting the Desert Color Dash on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 8 a.m. on the Gila Ridge campus.

Registration will be open online and the day of the race, beginning at 7 a.m.

It is the first-ever race hosted by the Hawkapella Choir and is a 5K or 1 mile Color Fun Run with prices being $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile run.

“This is a great event for the community to come out and have fun with the entire family while getting some great exercise,” said Gila Ridge choir teacher Tim O’Brien. “This will help our booster club raise funds we need to travel to upcoming concerts and performing events.”

A color run is an untimed event in which participants are blasted from head to toe with a different color at each kilometer mark.

For more information or to register, please visit http://www.active.com. Discounts will be available for teams of four or more. Children under the age of 5 are free. Questions about the race can be directed to Hawkapella Booster member Melissa Rossi at (928) 503-2217.
