Gila Ridge High School dancers present ‘Dancing Through the Arts’

The Gila Ridge High School dance department will be putting on theirGRHS dancers spring dance show “Dancing Through the Arts” on Thursday, April 27  and Friday, April 28, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the GRHS auditorium.

“Dancing Through the Arts” is a dance recital where the students chose songs and choreographed dances inspired by pieces of art. The show is separated by dance levels, Dance one and two will perform on Thursday and Performing dance will perform on Friday. Seniors will have solo performances as their way of saying goodbye to the GRHS stage.

“I’m excited for all the seniors to show all the hard work that they’ve been putting in their solo’s and everybody putting in the hard work into their group dances,” GRHS Senior Dancer Kayla Donadio said. “We’ve been spending hours practicing and choreographing.”

“Dancing Through the Arts” is mostly a student-led show. Students got the chance to choreograph their own dances and teach each other the choreography.

“From beginning to end the students have taken the lead on putting together this show, from coming up with the concept to creating their own choreography,” GRHS Dance Teacher Jessica Aponte said. “They have passionately been working hard on creating pieces of art in the movements they make.”

Students can purchase a ticket from a GRHS dancer for $5. Presale for the general public is $8. Admission is $10 at the door.
