YUHSD schools to celebrate Class of 2022 graduation ceremonies
The Graduating Class of 2022 for Yuma Union High School District is expected to include more than 2,300 students who have met the Arizona and YUHSD requirements to receive their diplomas.
In-person Graduation ceremonies will take place on Friday, May 27, at 8 p.m. at each comprehensive high school, while Vista High School will host their graduation ceremony at Yuma High School’s Snider Auditorium on Wednesday, May 25 at 7 p.m.
YUHSD is committed to preparing every student to be successful in college, careers, and the community, and the graduating class of 2022 has earned nearly $45 million in grants and scholarships to support their higher education goals. The $45 million is nearly $10 million more than the previous year’s total. Additionally, dozens of students enlisted in U.S. Armed Services, including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy and more than 1,000 will graduate with an industry certification earned through completion of a Career & Technical Education program.
"I am so excited for graduation day!” Cibola High School Principal Derek Bosch said. “Our students have overcome immense challenges and obstacles, but they've made it, and I can't wait to have them walk onto the stage, accept the diploma they've earned, and start the next chapter of their life. Congratulations Class of 2022."
All ceremonies will be livestreamed on each school’s Facebook page during the event. You do not need a Facebook account to watch the festivities. The following week, the recorded livestream will also be available on school and district websites and YUHSD’s YouTube account.
