YUHSD libraries open annual Design A Bookmark contest

Design a bookmarkYuma Union High School District librarians are once again looking for students to show off their creativity as part of the district’s annual “Design A Bookmark” contest.

The contest, which is hosted by librarians at all five comprehensive schools, opened to submissions on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 with an entry deadline of Feb. 14, 2022. Entry forms, including templates, will be available at each school’s library and when completed should be submitted to the librarian. Winners will be announced on Feb. 22.

“We're excited to see the creativity of our students,” Yuma High School Librarian Cait Zaksheske said. “Each school will select two winners from each grade level and print copies of the winning artwork to be displayed in the library and be available for other students to admire and use.”

Winners from grades 9-12 selected at each school will get their bookmarks printed and dispersed at their individual campuses. They will also each get copies for themselves as keepsakes.

YUHSD Librarians include: Peggy Evans at Gila Ridge High School, RJ Kiekevold at Kofa High School, Lourdes Aranda at San Luis High School, and Cait Zaksheske at Yuma High School.
