YUHSD libraries offer curbside pickup during distance learning

Libraries across Yuma Union High School District will offer curbside pickup for students interested in checking out books during distance learning.

“We are trying to give students accessibility to normalcy and things that they enjoy,” Cibola High School librarian Amanda Coltman said. “That is especially important during this time and during the holiday season.”

Students should access their school’s library course on the Canvas Learning Management System to fill out a book request form. The program is expected to continue until students return to learning on campus.

In addition to curbside pickup, libraries throughout YUHSD have continued to make reading accessible. Some schools offer digital reading material available for checkout, while all five libraries are taking part in the “Review It” challenge that promotes reading, and critical thinking and analysis.
