Gerber finishes in top 30 in state for second consecutive year

Kylee Gerber Gila Ridge High School girls golf standout Kylee Gerber finished 29th out of 82 golfers at the Arizona Interscholastic Association Division II State Championships this week at Tucson National Golf Course.

Gerber shot a two-day total of 175, and was the only local golfer to qualify for the event. This marked the final time playing in the state tournament for Gerber, who is a senior. The four-year letterman for the Hawks qualified for state all four seasons, including placing 20th in 2019.

"I ended up with a total of 175, not where I wanted to be," Gerber said. "But I battled out there on the course and that’s what I’m most proud of.”

Gerber recently signed a letter of intent to play golf at San Diego Christian College next season. It will be the school’s inaugural season of women’s golf.
