YUHSD hosting annual College, Career & Military Fair in virtual format on Oct. 15

Yuma Union High School District is holding a virtual version of its annual College, Career and Military Fair on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020.

The fair is open to all students throughout Yuma County. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a greeting from Kofa High School Principal Mike Sharp and instructions for how to access a variety of live presentations.

“The College, Career and Military Fair has grown to become one of our biggest events each school year,” YUHSD Chief Communications Officer Eric Patten said. “While the style of the event will look and feel quite a bit different, counselors across the district have worked hard to provide an experience that resembles the traditional fair with a twist.”

The event will use the website as a hub to host live informational sessions with postsecondary institutions and military representatives. Additionally, resources ranging from scholarship information to career opportunities to college admissions tutorials will be available on the event’s homepage:

This year’s theme is based on the popular movie, “Wreck It Ralph: Breaking the Internet” and is “hosted” by Kofa.

Multiple, live 15-minute presentations will be conducted by the following groups, including at least one from each area in Spanish:

  • Air Force Academy/AFROTC
  • Arizona State University
  • Arizona Western College
  • ASU and AWC CAMP
  • Grand Canyon University
  • Northern Arizona University
  • Stanford University
  • University of Arizona
  • U.S. Marine Corps
  • U.S. Army
