YUHSD student nutrition services adjusts schedule

YHS student nutrition staff As Yuma Union High School District begins preparations for students to return to campus, the district’s student nutrition department provided several updates to best serve families, including an adjusted schedule.

Effective immediately, YUHSD campuses will be providing no-cost meals to all children 18 years of age or younger as part of drive-thru service Monday through Friday. Beginning Monday, Sept. 14, when students return to campuses as part of the hybrid-learning schedule, drive-thru meal service will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at San Luis High School and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on all other campuses.

During hybrid-learning days, student nutrition will serve breakfast to students prior to school and will provide grab-and-go lunch after sixth period. For seniors who may have “early-out” schedules, lunch will be provided when they are released from school.

Additionally, the district will discontinue its meal-service bus routes on Friday, Sept. 11.
