YUHSD students earn 13 medals at HOSA regional event

GRHS HOSA students Nursing and sports medicine students from across Yuma Union High School District’s Career & Technical Education programs captured medals in 13 events at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Region 4 championship on Feb. 15, 2020 in Tucson.

Medalists in regionals qualify for the state competition in April.

“Our team did exceptional and I am really proud of the confidence they demonstrated to compete at this level with their knowledge,” Yuma High School Sports Medicine Instructor Nick Santos said. “Each student chose the area of health they wanted to compete in. We are looking forward to the next event in the spring.”
