YUHSD, Goodwill partner for job and resource fair

Yuma Union High School District and Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona have partnered to host their twice-annual job and resource fair for teachers and other school personnel on Thursday, Mar. 12, 2020 from 4:30-6 p.m.

The event will take place at the Goodwill Career Center located at 3097 S. 8th Avenue in Yuma.

Attendees will be able to see available openings at each of YUHSD’s six campuses, talk to district and campus leadership, learn about postsecondary opportunities, and more. The YUHSD Human Resources Department as well as representatives from the transportation department will also be on-hand for attendees interested in support positions, substitute teaching, AVID tutoring, or bus driving positions.

Additionally, the fair will have several postsecondary education institutions on hand, including Arizona Western College, Northern Arizona University, which will have details about their Teachers Academy scholarships, and Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teacher’s College. This will give job seekers who are interested in teaching, but may not have the proper certification, a chance to hear what steps are necessary to meet their future employment goal.

Those interested in attending the event are encouraged to register in advance by using the following link: https://gwl-az.org/resourcefairpr

Drop-in attendees are welcome as well.

The March fair will mark the fifth time since spring 2018 that Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona and YUHSD have teamed up. Several teachers and support staff members were hired from past events.
