YUHSD, Goodwill partner for twice-annual job fair

Yuma Union High School District and Goodwill of Central Arizona have partnered to host their twice-annual job fair for teachers and other school personnel on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 from 4:30-6 p.m.

The event will take place at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center located at 1015 N. Main Street in San Luis, Arizona.

Attendees will be able to see available openings at each of YUHSD’s six campuses, talk to district and campus leadership, and learn about postsecondary opportunities, and more. The YUHSD Human Resources Department as well as representatives from the transportation department will also be on-hand for attendees interested in support positions, substitute teaching, AVID tutoring, or bus driving positions.

Additionally, the fair will have several postsecondary education institutions on hand, including Arizona Western College, Northern Arizona University, which will have details about their Teachers Academy scholarships, and Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teacher’s College. This will give job seekers who are interested in teaching, but may not have the proper certification, a chance to hear what steps are necessary to meet their future employment goal.

Anyone interested in attending the event is encouraged to register in advance by using the following link: https://events.goodwillaz.org/08C0801C1A644B2A88A8E802465F101D

The November fair will mark the fourth time since spring 2018 that Goodwill of Central Arizona and YUHSD have teamed up. Several teachers and support staff members were hired from past events.
