Lane restrictions scheduled on Interstate 8 in Yuma beginning Sept. 30

The Arizona Department of Transportation has advised drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on Interstate 8 in Yuma beginning Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.

Commuters traveling to and from Gila Ridge High School on I-8 will be impacted from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 30 and ending Friday, Oct. 4.

Maintenance crews are scheduled to repair the eastbound I-8 bridge located at mileposts 2.98 (Avenue 2E) and 9.5 (Exit 9). Crews will repair bridge railing, curb and wall, according to ADOT.

Here are the restrictions that will be in place:

  • Eastbound I-8 will be narrowed to one lane between mileposts 1.5 and 3.0 to repair the bridge located at milepost 2.98 (Avenue 2E).
  • Eastbound I-8 will be narrowed to one lane between mileposts 8.6 and 9.6 to repair the bridge located at milepost 9.5 (Exit 9).
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
