YUHSD schools to celebrate Class of 2019 graduation ceremonies

The Graduating Class of 2019 for Yuma Union High School District includes more than 2,500 students who have met the Arizona and YUHSD requirements to receive their diplomas.

Graduation ceremonies will take place on Friday, May 24, at 8 p.m. at each high school. Vista High School will host their graduation ceremony at Yuma High School’s Snider Auditorium on Wednesday, May 22 at 7 p.m.

YUHSD is committed to preparing every student to be successful in college and careers, and the graduating class of 2019 has earned nearly $33 million in grants and scholarships to support their higher education goals. 

Students have been accepted to a number of schools in Arizona and from around the country, including: Arizona Western College, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, Grand Canyon University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Alverno College, American Institute of Dental Assisting, Azusa Pacific University, Baylor University, Bethel University, Biola University, Brigham Young University, Colgate University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Creighton University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Imperial Valley College, Iowa State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mesa Community College, New Mexico State University, Occidental College, Oklahoma State University, Pima Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Texas A&M, Texas Christian University, University of California-Berkeley, University of California-Los Angeles, University of California-Riverside, University of Central Florida, University of Colorado, University of Mississippi, University of Nevada-Reno, University of North Texas, University of San Francisco, University of Southern California, Yavapai Community College, and many others.  

Dozens of students enlisted in U.S. Armed Services, including the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy.

Graduation ceremonies are being recorded and will be posted on each school’s website the week following graduation. Links to each school’s graduation video will be shared on their official Facebook pages and the district’s YouTube account as well.
