Kofa Volleyball to host AIA play-in game

No. 15 Kofa High School volleyball will host No. 18 Westwood High School in an Arizona Interscholastic Association 6A Conference play-in game on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.

The Kings (16-2) wrapped up one of the best regular seasons in school history on Tuesday with a road loss to Westwood, but will have a chance to win on their home court Thursday.

Led by five seniors, Kofa won 15 of its first 16 matches of the season, which came on the heels of a record-setting 15-straight wins to open the 2017 season. Keiley Sharp led the team 210 kills, Isabel Ponce had a team-best 58 service aces and Joceyn Weber had 24 blocks.

The winner of Thursday's play-in game will advance to the 16-team state playoffs, which begin on Oct. 30.
