SLHS and CHS students attend choral workshop at ASU

Students from San Luis and Cibola high schools attended the Arizona State University High School Vocal Connection Workshop on Saturday Sept. 22, 2018.

The workshop gave students an opportunity to learn essential musicianship skills that will help them become better singers and musicians. Additionally, students worked with professors from the Vocal and Choral Department at ASU to prepare for a final performance at Katzin Concert Hall, including a rendition of “I Sing Because I’m Happy.”

“Events like this provide students with an enrichment opportunity that allows them to grow and motivate other students around them,” SLHS Band Director Juan Lomeli said.

Overall, more than 300 students from across Arizona attended the workshop.
