KBLU kicks off YUHSD slate of football broadcasts

El Dorado Broadcasters station KBLU (560AM) begins its slate of Yuma Union High School District Friday Night Football radio broadcasts Friday, Aug. 24 as Yuma High School takes on Calexico High School at Doan Field.

The station will carry nine YUHSD football games this season, including at least two home games each for Yuma, Kofa, Cibola and Gila Ridge high schools.

“As a station and company we really wanted to create an aspect of community,” KBLU play-by-play commentator David Horner said. “By broadcasting a game of the week and visiting as many of the local schools as possible, we hope 560 KBLU can facilitate that aspect of community to all of our listeners and bring a quality football broadcast to as many people as possible.”

Horner will be joined in the booth each week by YUHSD’s Eric Patten.
