YUHSD board approves raises for classified and certificated staff

The Yuma Union High School District Governing Board on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 approved the 2018-19 employee compensation packet as well as raises for both classified and certificated staff.

All certificated staff members will receive a 12 percent pay increase, when factoring in funds from Proposition 301. Classified staff members who are making more than minimum wage will receive an increase of 4 percent and administrators will receive a 3 percent raise. All benefitted employees will also have an additional $500 rolled into their base pay and a $500 one-time payment in December.

Several weeks ago, YUHSD Superintendent Gina Thompson declined any increase to her salary.
