Two Cibola Education Profession students selected to attend national competition

Twelve Education Professions students from Cibola High School traveled to Tucson, Arizona to compete in the Educators Rising State Leadership Conference on March 4-6, 2019.  Two Cibola Students qualified for the National Competition to be held June 22-25, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. 

 Joanna Delgado, a junior, placed 5th in the Exploring Support Services Careers for which she shadowed and gave a presentation on Student Nutrition Services Workers.

 Joshua Dusek, a senior, placed 2nd in the Lesson Planning and Delivery- STEM competition where he taught a science lesson to 4th grade students at Valley Horizon Elementary School, created a video, and had a reflection & Q&A session with the judges.

“All of the students who competed performed well in their events, “says Loren Simpson, Cibola Education Professions teacher.  “They worked for over a month putting together presentations, practicing speaking, and finalizing their events. They have definitely earned the honor.”
