Cibola FFA participates in Spring Career Developments Events Conference at the University of Arizona

Cibola High School Future Farmers of America traveled to the main University of Arizona campus in Tucson on Mar. 1, 2019 to participate in the Spring FFA Career Development Events Conference.

The spring conference, which was attended by multiple Yuma Union High School District FFA programs, was composed of an array of career development events. FFA members were able to focus on skill development and career preparation through competition. Cibola FFA participated in seven different CDE’s, ranging from job interview to nursery landscape.

“These students have worked tremendously hard on preparing for these contests, and to watch them succeed and grow every year was just so amazing, “Cibola FFA teacher Erika Derma said.

Here is a list of how all Cibola FFA students who placed at CDE:

Vet Tech placed second as a team at state with Sydney Peare placing eighth individually and Karen Campa placing 10th individually and earning the highest online test score.

Soils placed second as a team, with Jocelynn Lopez placing second individually and earning the highest online test score and Khali Nelson placing 10th individually.

Job Interview is a solo event where Kelsey Yablonski was a finalist and placed 10th individually.

Nursery Landscape placed seventh as a team with Davelyn Willinger placing fourth individually.

Agricultural Business placed eighth as a team with Savannah Sears earning the highest online test score.
