YUHSD offers Child Find screening

AZ Find flyer Yuma Union High School District offers Child Find screening to help locate, identify, and evaluate any children with known or suspected disabilities who reside within the school district’s boundaries.

The goal is to determine whether a need for special education or related services exists, and our community is an instrumental partner in making the public aware of the services YUHSD offers. Identifying these children is an important first step toward getting them the help they need to succeed in school.

YUHSD Executive Director of Student Services Suman Pangasa said, “If you are a parent or guardian of a student who is currently homeschooled or privately placed who has a disability or that you suspect may have difficulty with learning, communication, vision, hearing, behavior, or motor control and coordination, please contact our special education department.”

YUHSD Student Services can be reached at (928) 502-6752 for further information. Please note: all Child Find screening referrals are considered confidential and services provided are at no cost to the family.
