SLHS receives flagpole donation through WoodmenLife local chapter

SAN LUIS, AZ - The WoodmenLife Chapter 152 in Yuma, AZ donated a flag to San Luis High School. Once the flagpole was installed at the campus, SLHS held a flagpole ceremony in commemoration of the victims of 9/11.

“This flagpole is for the community itself, especially for the first responders,” WoodmenLife Chapter 152 President Christopher Soloman said.”I’m proud of this high school, the community here and what they have done here, and the children.”

The ceremony was conducted next to the flagpole, which is located next to the SLHS tennis courts. Speakers from SLHS, Woodmenlife local chapter, and the community partook in the ceremony.

“It’s been an honor working with Mr. Soloman”  SLHS Activities Principal Delia Castro said, “They are graciously assisting not only with our flag and flagpole, but also helping our color guard for their future needs of flags as well.

The Woodmenlife Yuma chapter has donated flags to various non-profit organizations in Yuma County.
