YHS students recognized at fall A-Team celebration

counselors on stage at A TeamYuma High School students were recognized for their overall academic success in the 2020-21 school year during the twice-annual "A" Team ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 18 in Snider Auditorium.

“Being recognized for all of my hard work and dedication to my academic success was awesome," said YHS student Tahaiti Roth, who was recognized during the event.

The “A” Team is considered the highest award for recognition of overall academic achievement. It recognizes students who received a weighted grade-point-average of 4.0 or greater, with no grade lower than a B, at the end of a semester. In AP classes, a B receives the same credit as an A in other classes, so “A” Team takes that into consideration.

Students who qualified for the award are recognized with a certificate. In addition, students may qualify for an academic varsity letter or a gold pin depending on previous achievements.
