YUHSD hosting annual College, Career & Military Fair on Oct. 1 at Gila Ridge High School

Yuma Union High School District is holding its annual College, Career and Military Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 in the Hawk Gym at Gila Ridge High School.

The fair rotates between campuses each year and is open to all students throughout Yuma County. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

“Our College, Career and Military Fair is a way for students across the county to see what opportunities are out there,” YUHSD Superintendent Gina Thompson said. “While our campuses have traditionally hosted the event, students and families are welcome from all over the region. College-going culture is truly for everyone and it starts early, so even ninth and tenth graders can benefit from gathering as much knowledge as they can about what doors may open for them in the future.”

Arizona's major universities, community colleges, military academies/ROTC representatives, and career technical programs will be present at the event along with businesses from around the county previewing internships and future job prospects. Vendors or businesses interested in having a table at the event should contact Gila Ridge Counselor Sonia Rebek at srebek@yumaunion.org.

This year’s theme is based on the Dr. Seuss story “Oh, the Places You’ll Go.” Gila Ridge High School is located at 7150 E. 24th Street in Yuma.
