Multiple YUHSD students finish in top 10 at Educators Rising Nationals

Yuma Union High School District students brought home seven top 10 finishes at the 2018 Educators Rising National Competition in Orlando, Florida last month.

Gila Ridge High School’s Andrew Bilky earned second place in impromptu speaking, giving him the highest finish of any student from YUHSD and making him one of just four from the state of Arizona to finish in the top two of a competition. YUHSD sent 13 entrants to nationals across 11 of the 22 events overall.

Educators Rising is a free national membership organization for aspiring teachers and their mentors. San Luis High School’s Adriana Carranza will serve as Arizona’s Educators Rising President for the 2018-19 school year.
