Yuma High Cell Block proceeds to Benefit Cancer Awareness

The Yuma High School Cell Block student store will donate a portion of their monthly proceeds to Cancer Awareness for the entire month of October.

“It’s a way to help our community,” Career & Technical Education Business Teacher Patrica Quezada said. “With the way 2020 has been going, we really wanted to extend that helping hand to community members hit hard during this time.”

Any shirt with a pink Criminal logo that is purchased through the Cell Block will have its proceeds donated to the Yuma Regional Medical Center Cancer Center. The shirts come in sizes Adult small to Adult 3XL.

In addition to the special edition pink logo apparel, the Cell Block offers a wide variety of Yuma High paraphernalia and clothing items, including sweatshirts, hats, and stickers. Cell Block hours are Mondays from 7:15-7:39 a.m. and 12:45-1:15 p.m. and Fridays from 7:15-7:39 a.m. and 12-1:15 p.m.

The Cell Block’s donation will coincide with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities each October. This follows Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September.
