Yuma High School Counseling and AVID and CTE programs to join Carver Elementary for Fall Festival

Yuma High School’s Cousenling Department along with the AVID and Career & Technical Education programs will participate in G.W. Carver Elementary School’s “Trunk or Treat” celebration on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5-7 p.m.

Students from the CTE program will be one of numerous community partners on hand to offer Carver families a no-cost activity, pass out program information, and pass out candy for students who are trick or treating at the event. AVID students from Yuma High will be serving as volunteers, helping set up and interacting with families.

“I am excited for the participation of Yuma High in our Fall Festival,” Carver Principal Matt Buckley said. “We recently became an AVID Elementary School, so we are excited that we will have education represented at our festival all the way from Pre-K to college.”

This is the first year Carver has hosted the event for its families with hopes of creating a fun and safe tradition for area families.
