Yuma High hosting Yuma Ballet’s ‘Nutcracker’

Join Ballet Yuma dancers as they take you on a magical journey and transform Yuma High School’s Snider Auditorium into young Clara’s dream world as she and her Nutcracker Prince travel through the Land of Snow and the Land of Sweets.

Ballet Yuma will be presenting four public performances the weekend of Dec. 7-9 at Snider Auditorium, 400 S. 6th Ave. Show times are:

  • Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1 and 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m.

Tickets are available online by going to Ballet Yuma’s website, www.BalletYuma.org, and selecting “Buy Tickets.” After Dec. 8, tickets will be available only at the door an hour prior to each performance. In celebrating its 25th Season, Ballet Yuma is very excited to be bringing guest artist from San Diego Ballet Isabelle Overstreet will be dancing the Sugarplum Fairy and her caviler will be Adam Bloodgood also from San Diego Ballet. Roland Jones from Ballet West will be performing the role of Snow King in Act 1 and will also be leading the Russian variation in Act 2. Join Ballet Yuma in celebrating our 25th season.

Kathleen Sinclair, Artistic Director of Ballet Yuma, says “We have been providing excellence in the arts to our surrounding communities for over 25 years, and we couldn’t be prouder of our dancers and our commitment to our Yuma audiences. Though we take great pride in offering the classic Nutcracker version, this year we have added some colorful new choreography to brighten up the palette a bit. Our dancers, as always, are very well-rehearsed and ready to present their fans with the highest quality performances that they can give.”
