Yuma High and AWC partner to boost post-secondary enrollment

Yuma High School and Arizona Western College are partnering to help students reach their higher education goals.

AWC now has an office located on the YHS campus as the two schools will be able to more closely work together to get students enrolled, on track, and in search of a higher education.

“This new office at Yuma High is a space to provide students to come speak with college representatives, and providing students with a familiar face every week,” AWC Enrollment and Recruitment Specialist Sierra Dunn said. Dunn is on the YHS campus every Monday, and specializes in enrolling future students.

Admissions aren’t the only services being offered to students at YHS.  “The purpose of the AWC recruiters is to educate the high school students on what we at AWC have to offer: Classroom presentations, financial aid, scholarship applications, how to fill out an enrollment form,” Dunn said.

AWC is here working with YHS to help students every step along the way, to make sure the transition into college goes as smoothly as possible.

The AWC office is open at Yuma High Mon-Thurs every week, and AWC representatives and YHS guidance counselors are glad to answer any questions that you have about students seeking a college education. Note: This service is for ALL students, not just seniors.
