VHS Hospitality Management receives $1500 from Weezy’s takeover

VHS Hospitality at Wheezy's restaurant takeoverVista High School’s FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) Hospitality Management class participated in a takeover at Wheezy’s restaurant on September 22 and fundraised $1,500.

“I'm happy that the community came to support us and had questions for myself and the students,” VHS Hospitality teacher Carmen Middaugh said. “They wanted to know more about FCCLA and what it was all about.”

During the takeover event, the students were given the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight about running a restaurant, customer service, management, and more.

“Having this money will give our club the opportunity to go on trips, have more experiences relating to hospitality management, and get more knowledge about the industry,” VHS student Sophia Munoz said.  “We are very thankful to Wheezys for their help in letting us have the opportunity to go on trips in the future.”

The funds raised through this collaboration will be directed towards enriching educational experiences for VHS students. These experiences include work-based learning opportunities that prepare students for their future careers and educational trips that broaden their horizons.
