PTO meeting to include presentation regarding “Opioids in Our Community”

San Luis High School would like to invite the community to a presentation from San Luis Fire Department regarding “Opioids in our Community” as part of the school’s Parent Teacher Organization meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. in the San Luis High School Auditorium.

With the growing use of opioids among teenagers, SLHS is hosting an informational evening about what to look for and how to prevent overdoses. Luis Cebreros of the San Luis Fire Department will also be speaking about his experiences in the community, and provide insights on how to spot opioid abuse. Officers from the San Luis Police Department will also be present to answer any other questions that guests may have.

In addition, Annette Elias will present as a keynote speaker. Elias is a SLHS teacher, social economist and life coach. She will be discussing specifics she has learned about our teenagers while being in the classroom.

This event is open to the public. Admission is free.
