SLHS hosting cultural arts festival

San Luis High School’s performing arts students will be presenting a three-day art event on the SLHS campus.

The festival will take place Tuesday, Nov. 13 and run through Thursday, Nov. 15. To start the festival, a carnival and BBQ will be held in the Performing Arts Center on Nov. 13. The carnival will include a loteria, piñata, face painting, ring toss, soccer and much more.

The Performing Arts Department will be selling tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, beverages and other concession items. While guests eat, they will be treated to the musical stylings of the SLHS Band, Choir and Mariachi Ensemble.

The festivities will continue on Nov. 14 and 15 with a theatrical presentation of “Harvest Moon.” According to SLHS drama teacher Timothy Ames, “The play was selected by my drama club last year as a way to celebrate our community culture and explore our art form in a meaningful way. The students are excited to share a part of themselves through this powerful drama.”

All shows begin at 6 p.m. in the SLHS auditorium. Admission is free.
