Former Kofa teacher to hold book signing on campus

A former Kofa High School teacher will hold a book signing on the campus Saturday, Feb. 29 at 1 p.m. to promote her tale of adopting a young bobcat.

Dawn Hopkins, who taught at Kofa shortly after the school opened in 1959, will sign copies of her book “Parthur: The Story of an Orphaned Bobcat” in the administration office on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

“Parthur” was released in October and tells the story of a young bobcat, who’s spared after its mother is killed by a bounty hunter in southern Arizona. Unable to maintain the small animal, the hunter gives the kitten to a young schoolteacher, who is determined to raise him in a small apartment in Yuma.
