Kofa students attend journalism camp at Pepperdine University

During the week of July 30, 2018, two Kofa High School students had the opportunity to attend the Ignite University Journalism Camp hosted by Students pose with Mr. Duggan Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

The camp is an annual event put on by Balfour, a leading manufacturer of class rings and other graduation related apparel and accessories. While at the camp, Kofa juniors Daniela Acevedo and Brooklyn Angulo were able to attend educational sessions led by industry professionals in topics such as typography, design, photography, marketing and leadership. The duo competed against more than 40 other schools and earned a bronze award for their work on the 2017-18 yearbook cover.

“The Kofa yearbook staff is eager to continue the success from last year when they took home Grand Champion at the Yuma County Fair and earned a spot in Balfour's Yearbook ‘Yearbook’ that features the best books in the country for the 2017 edition of La Corona,” said Kofa Yearbook Club Sponsor Thomas Duggan, who also chaperoned the trip.
