Hannah Kendrick, Athletic Trainer

Hometown: Palm Bay, FL/Shanghai, China
High School: Covenant Christian School & Heritage High School
Years in Position: 1st at Cibola, 5th as an Athletic Trainer
Why Athletics: "I grew up playing sports and was always injured. I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon, but then after my own shoulder surgery in high school, I decided I wanted to be a physical therapist after how much my PT inspired me and helped me through my rehab and recovery. Then, when working with the women’s basketball team in undergrad at the University of Miami, one of the athletes I had become close with tore her ACL in front of me at practice. I got to know her BEFORE she got injured, was there WHEN she got injured, was actually in the operating room assisting the surgeons during her surgery, was there for every single day of her rehab and recovery, and then got to see her in her first game back on the court. That is when I realized that being an athletic trainer is the perfect career for me to be able to see athletes BEFORE, DURING, and THROUGH an injury, share in both their pains and their successes."
