Awards/Accolades: USTA Southern Arizona High School Tennis Coach of the Year (2016), Head Coach 1997 Kenmore Cardinals youth football champions.
Why Coaching: "Every weekend when I was growing up, my two uncles took my brother and I to practice football, baseball and track. They did this despite having their own families and problems. I didn't fully appreciate the amount of time they spent with us until I reached adulthood. I vowed to always give back to the community and to share my knowledge with area youth. It is my belief that interscholastic sports are an important part of the academic curriculum. As coaches, it is our responsibility to teach athletes the value of hard work, self discipline and persistence. Therefore, it is important to teach proper technique, or risk sacrificing long term development in favor of short term success. When they leave us, our athletes should have sufficient knowledge to pass on to others. We can measure our success by the number of our students who go on to become the coaches and teachers of the future."
